An absolutely stunning photo if you follow this link (http://www.photoradar.com/news/story/national-archives-releases-dramatic-victorian-snow-photo), it's a steam train 'breaking through' a snow drift at Altnabreac in 1895 !

why can't they do it now? lol

lol yeah, plus reading the bumf with the photo it looks like they had 3 engines just to clear the drift without any carriages - they wont 'waste' money like that now!

i read with interest yesterday that one of the few trains to carry on in the south over the last few days was a good old chartered steam train which had no problems at all
