The 'wee' Scottish folk have now been abandoned by the retail multi's that are happy to take our cash in the fair weather.

The following GLOBAL MULTINATIONAL companies cannot get their goods from Carlisle to Gretna due to the weather!!!!! It's been a tropical 8c today!?

TESCO decide not to deliver their goods to Scotland! (http://direct.tesco.com/help/deliveryitems.aspx)

BOOTS decide not to deliver their goods to Scotland! (http://www.boots.com/en/Help/Delivery-information/#question1)

CARPHONE WAREHOUSE decide not to deliver their goods to Scotland! (http://selfhelp.carphonewarehouse.com/SelfHelp/request.do?view%28%29=c%7Bd248eab0-f978-11df-f8a4-f20203001e3d%7D)

So go to TESCO & BOOTS and ask the store managers how they have any stock at all when we see lorry after lorry arriving to stock their shops but cannot deliver to Scotland?!! Better still, use local suppliers.

Tell me about it - I went to order some last minute Xmas pressies today. Took me all day to find something and when I did it was from Tesco Direct. "Great" I thought, "done at last!" only to be told that they cannot deliver to Scotland. [disgust]

I have 4 parcels from Amazon in transit. Hope they get here in time!
I think they have a big depot in Greenock and another one in Glenrothes, so we should be ok...

Looks like for Christmas 2011 we will need to start buying in June or July. That way we will get them delivered while the weather is still OK.

Nothing to do with you Phill?
Eight people - including a pregnant woman and a 76-year-old man - have been injured in an explosion at a Tesco store in Greater Manchester.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing smoke filling the store on Bolton Road in Walkden on Sunday afternoon.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said the surrounding areas were evacuated.
Initial reports suggest the explosion might have come from the bakery area when a pipe in a fridge burst. [hmmm]

I ordered my daughters prom dress from China last Sunday evening during the horrible weather and it was delivered to my door on Friday morning by the lovely AJG delivery van. :) Fair enough I paid extra to have it couriered quickly however normal delivery was being quoted at seven to fourteen days, not much more.

Kinda makes Tesco's Boots and others look very bad now doesn't it. :~(

It was mini Changi's birthday on the 5th, still awaiting a couple of packages that were posted at least a week afore that.

No matter, it just means he is like royalty, and will get 2 birthdays lol.

KW14 is excluded by Toysrus because it is not MAINLAND. They have this lumped in with BPFO addresses and state they cannot deliver to outlying islands......

hmmmm last time I looked we were attached to the mainland cos we are , perhaps we have broken off and the flooding is actually the north sea ......

Had another look, you were lucky or 'slipped through the net'!:

Where do you deliver to?
We deliver domestically to the UK mainland and Northern Ireland. Some items are not available for delivery to Northern Ireland - these are highlighted within the individual product details.
Unfortunately, due to the high cost of delivering to remote islands and the difficulty with arranging returns, orders can only be placed on and delivered to UK mainland and Northern Ireland addresses. The following lists the UK & BFPO postcode ranges we do not accept orders from or permit delivery to:
Scottish Highlands KW1 - 4; KW6 - 10; KW14
Shetland Isles ZE1 - ZE3
Guernsey GY1 - GY9
Jersey JE1 - JE4
Isles of Scilly TR21 - TR25
Isle of Man IM1 - IM9
British Forces PO BFPO1 - BFPO999

I am registered on toysrus but haven't ordered from them for a little while. I made a mock order today, and while they would not honour the "free delivery over £50" option because of my address, they were happy to send by standard delivery and quoted delivery by 23rd Dec.

I live in Wick.

Last year Dell failed Santa miserably. The family laptop (but labeled for my lil guy) that was supposed to be here for the 12th of December was delevired on 07th of January. The way I got around it was that I made glitter footprints, got a santa teddy and put him under the tree with a written note from santa on special paper apologizing for the delay, but that the elves had an accident in the workshop which delayed everything. I also put the same glitter in the envelope that I used for the footprints. And yes, he noticed! (get the bigger holographic glitter: it's easier to hoover up and still takes a while to get rid of!).
