Morning folks. Opened the Kennels at 7am and it is positively Artic here, the roads are being ploughed and gritted but the winds are drifting snow back across, causing problems.
Very few vehicles are moving, the road is passable only with great care.
We are digging Paula's motor out so that she can try to get to her grooming parlour in Thurso, but it does'nt look good.

If it gets any better or worse I will try to update.:D

Snow ploughs and blowers are out, roads very quiet but appear to be still open. We had a white out not too long ago.

Hello Tyke, did Paula get through to Thurso?

Sorry not yet, Paula is phoning all of her customers booked in today and cancelling all appointments.
I would sooner have her home safe then stuck in a drift as she was yesterday near to Spittal. Luckily because she was well prepared with shovels etc, she was able to get out and back home. Thanks to Tich, a member of her staff for helping.:D

Better to be safe at home in this than stuck somewhere!
Im sure the regular customers will understand.
Keep cosy...
Its snowing here in Watten at the moment.

Paula is very keen to get to work because of the backload of work and she and her staff are going to be working all the hours they can to catch up once they get back to the grooming parlour.

Thanks Tyke. Paula's customers appreciate her professionalism and would no way want her to endanger herself. Knowing Paula, she will work like stink to catch up when things get back to normal.

Take care and keep warm. LB2 :)

The sun is out and a thaw appears to be starting, many more vehicles moving about, mostly heading south, although road conditions are still difficult.
The lads from Dunbeath Transserve are doing a cracking job today.
