Here is a snap I took last year of Latheronwheel's Christmas lights. Have they managed to acquire any more items this year?

I think you are being unkind. Latheronwheel is not a big community and that probably cost them £50,000 plus erection

With Portgower's reputation I would seriously consider taking the long way round by Bettyhill and avoiding the place altogether but the lure of a fish supper from La Mirage and a heavy foot on the pedal usually overcomes the fear of being bitten by a zombie.

I agree, It takes a lot of money and an amazing amount of time to get a comunities xmas light display up to scratch, everybody has to start on 1 and when you get 2 then you have improved by 100% and so it goes on. Keep at it Latheronwheel and pm me if I can be of assistance.

The tree at Latheronwheel is the best I've seen in Caithness so far. :)

Just to clarify, there are a total of 8 xmas lights and a xmas tree every year in Latheronwheel since 2000. These are on all the available lamp posts, as the streetlights further down the village are on hydro electric poles, and decorative lights are not permitted on these. All erection and maintenance is undertaken by local volunteers, and we thank them for their efforts each year.
