Looks like a drop of water on the window or camera lens...

That's a cracker.

I looks a bit like the pressure wave you see in front of a supersonic plane, but I doubt that's what it is.

I'm pretty sure Wick airport tower could tell you if there was any overhead traffic around that time?

That was my first thought too, but I assume he saw it with his own eyes first?

Nice shot of the water in your windscreen there. ;)

What I find intriguing is the green & red lights, as you would find on all man made aircraft:

edit: oh, definitely not on glass or through glass or on a windscreen. These were from a series taken in the open.

Did you see this with your own eyes in the sky, or could it have been water on the lens?

Phill

I saw it with my own eyes but not with the detail in these pics i.e. the red / green light thing, didnae see that.

There are experimental 'things' flying around. If no 'bang' was heard, I read somewhere they are perhaps at a point where there will be no bang when going thru the sound barrier, as it looks a bit like a pressure wave.

I have seen several 'things' over the Unites States Eastern Seaboard, that do not look like normal planes, and they would not call Wick if it was a special test/ experimental!

Well, if it was 'normal' you would be in the best position of all of us to know. So come on, what do you think it is? Oh, wait a minute, south did you say? Ahhh' Portgower .

Not a weather balloon? Never seen one but someone said they were silver and big and mistaken for UFOS?

How fast was it moving, and in what direction? Did it move erratically at all?

Our meteorology dept once cleaned out a storage space and left out a bunch of stuff for a few days until the trash people came and took it. A colleague scavenged through it and found a bunch of past their date but still good weather balloons. He attached a wee blinking light LED gadget he threw together (renegade electronics tech) and sent one off over Los Angeles at dusk. Tons of UFO calls to the media. Very pleased with himself of course.

That is definately a UFO. It is Unidentified. It is Flying and it's clearly an Object.
