Heres one of mine:
Chicago.
One of my fave songs:
Saddo, I know.

If You Leave Me Now

If you leave me now, youll take away the biggest part of me
No baby please dont go
If you leave me now, youll take away the very heart of me
No baby please dont go

A love like ours is love thats hard to find
How could we let it slip away
Weve come too far to leave it all behind
How could we end it all this way
When tomorrow comes well both regret
Things we said today

A love like ours is love thats hard to find
How could we let it slip away
Weve come too far to leave it all behind
How could we end it all this way
When tomorrow comes well both regret
Things we said today

If you leave me now, youll take away the biggest part of me
No baby please dont go
Oh girl, just got to have you by my side

No baby, please dont go

Oh mama, I just got to have your lovin, yeah

Weve come too far to leave it all behind

What's your fave?

This is a tough one since I struggle to compile a top 50 because I have so many favourites but here's one that gets me every time I hear it...

Time In A Bottle - Jim Croche

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
Till eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
Ive looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with

If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with

My favourite song is 'Tomorrow' by U2.The critics thought it was a gangster song about the IRA with black cars parked at the side of the road.KNICKERS,It was a guy writing a song about a hearse parked at the side of the road for his mothers funeral.

Bono wrote the lyrics after his mother passed away......the song still makes me well up today.

Cheers for this thread pultneytooner, way to release songs o' yore!!!!

It was morning
And i felt myself yearning
for a childhood that i thought had disappeared

I looked out the window
I saw a magpie in a rainbow
The rain had gone,I'm not alone
I looked in the mirror....I saw you
The child

Misplaced Childhood....Marillion

Hmmm.....I've got so many favourite songs, it's hard to make a choice! OK then, one of my fave soppy ones is "Lady", written by Lionel Richie. He penned it for Kenny Rogers to sing - in 1980, I believe. It was a big hit for Kenny, and also for Lionel himself, who recorded it later on. I like both versions, and without further ado, here are the lyrics:

Lady, I'm your knight in shining armour and I love you
You have made me what I am and I am yours
My love, there's so many ways I want to say I love you
Let me hold you in my arms forever more

You have gone and made me such a fool
I'm so lost in your love
And oh, we belong together
Won't you believe in my song?

Lady, for so many years I thought I'd never find you
You have come into my life and made me whole
Forever let me wake to see you each and every morning
Let me hear you whisper softly in my ear

In my eyes I see no one else but you
There's no other love like our love
And yes, oh yes, I'll always want you near me
I've waited for you for so long

Lady, your love's the only love I need
And beside me is where I want you to be
'Cause, my love, there's something I want you to know
You're the love of my life, you're my lady

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

I don't really just have one fav but what is playing just now is counting crows- "Big Yellow Taxi"

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swingin' hot spot
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot

They took all the trees, and put em in a tree museum
And they charged the people a dollar and a half to see them
No, no, no
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot

It's very difficult to pick just one favourite as I have so many including:
Mississippi ~ Pussycat
If Tomorrow Never Comes ~ Garth Brooks
I Will Always Love You ~ Dolly Parton
Unchained Melody ~ Righteous Brothers
Great Pretender ~ Queen
Just typing them out makes me think that I've picked all sad songs, but they all hold a different (and not necessarily sad) memory for me.
