 Vegetarian or meat kebabs. They are really nice and make a change from burnt burgers and cremated sausages. Besides us vegetarians like to be involved too.

Chicken pieces are great. But I pre-cook them to about 3/4 done in the microwave. Then apply lots of barbeque sauce.

Fish is wonderful. We do a salmon on a cedar plank that is just great. Or wrap it in tinfoil with a bit of butter and lemon juice. I throw in rosemary, but the kids don't like the twigs!

People try corn wetted down still in the husk. Never worked for me, but as you know I am not a patient person.

I've had success with a roast cooked over a pan with red wine in it. But you have to keep adding water and wine to the pan.

Good luck.

or any fish would be great if you go and round up some fennel stalks.. not the bulb kind in the shop but, the kind that grows near to the sea (do you get it that far north? i've procured some just north of Dundee before..) and keep them till they dry out.. a week or so... next barbie get them out and place them over the fire with any type of fish on top.. !

Hey! Hedgehogs are good - quite like pork. :)

So I am led to believe - hence the name Hedge Piges or Hedgehogs.
