Good for crims, not so good for taxpayers.....

So the wonderful TETRA system, as well as frying policepersons brains, is now deemed too expensive to use! :roll:

Wouldn't they simply have been better having the same mobiles as the rest of us in the first place?

It was well noted before the system even rolled out the cost was going to come back and bite them in the arse.

Purely my own opinion but I guess there were serious beackhanders involved in the contract.


Once again procurement via the civil service, it doesn't work.

Its because they use an especially protected system.

Over in the states they don't use an especially encryped system - any police scanner can pick it up. I don't see what's wrong with this to be honest.
