Crown1 and Commercial were involved in an epic battle in Game Week 3 of the Wick & District Pool league. Commercial started off great getting themselves into a 5-3 lead, but the Crown1 team didnt give up. They fought back playing some brilliant pool and won the match 6-5 thanks to Colin Banks getting a "Granny" in his trebles match.
After 2 straight defeats, defending champions Camps2 got back on track with a 10-1 demolition against the Francis Street Club. Camps2 captain Bruce Honeyman got the team off to a great start with a fantastic clearance in his game against Alan Steven. Alan Stewart was unlucky as he lost out in a blackball frame against Alec Thompson. Ian Bremner was the only Francis Street Club player to win a frame, beating Ryan Carter. But Carter made up for it in his doubles clearing the table to clinch victory for the Camps2.
In the other matches in Division 1, Bayview1 go top of the league after an 8-3 win against Camps1. And in the Blackstairs derby, the first team won comfortably 8-3.
The 2nd Division looks like it could be a close affair this season, Bayview2 and Seaforth Club both scraped 6-5 victories over Crown2 and Queens2 respectively. The Mountain Dew derby wasnt so close, as the second team taught the first team a lesson beating them 9-2.
