Someone has gone and closed the Allans of Gillock opening hours thread, so I cannot helpfully post this link....

First result from putting "Allans of Gillock Opening Hours" into Google (http://www.google.co.uk)

What a time you guys over there would save if you tried Google from time to time! Google reports that it found my result for me in 0.17 seconds, whilst the OP using the Org only got the answer 1 hour and 9 minutes later!

Lol, so very true. Some of the questions I've seen on here, I scratch my head and wonder why they don't use Mr Google.

LOL Orkneycadian.

The issue you refer to does seem to be a common symtom among serial 'Orgers'. More serious cases leave them incapable of working, cutting the grass, doing the dishes or cooking a proper meal.

Mild symtoms though are, but not limited to:

1. Asking what time Tesco/Pets at home/Johnies Taxis/Castletown Public Toilets shut.
2. Is there a bus to Lybster/Watten/Inverness/Castletown Public Toilets.
3. What times do the buses go to the afore mentioned.
4. Becoming involved in county wide lost cat hunts, (but never leaving the house).
5. Completley missing the comprehensive business section forum and asking for the number of a Florist on the general forum. (Ivaflowershop has repeat cases of this.)
6. TBC!

I prefer the questions to the back biting and nit picking.

Maybe it would free up the general section then, if admin created a "Please can you Google this for me" section? Those who prefer to ask a question, and only get their answer some hours/days/weeks later/if at all, can, whilst those reading the general section don't get uptight by trivial requests for information.

It would be a bit like 118118 type services where folk that can't be bothered to open the phone book, or search on bt.com or Google can pay a quid or whatever for the privilege of having someone else look it up for them.

Heck, now I come to think of it - PM me all your requests for pub opening times, who played the music in Top Joes last night, when are Allans of Gillock open and whatever, accompanied with your credit card details and I promise I'll only debit £2 for each Google search! ;)

Thats 2 business ideas borne out of the Org this afternoon - a few more and ther'll be no need to worry about austerity measures! :)

What's worse is when you feel quite proud of yourself for getting the info, you turn up at the shop/toilets and bam, They're closed. Never happened to me but you know...it could...
