Pray tell.... what is Ganset knitting? Fairisle and Arans I can do but have never heard of Ganset.

A 'Gansey' is a seamans knitted sweater/jersey.....and keeps your 'Oxters' warm...sometimes worn over a 'Semit'.

Just Googled both - now I understand what they are. Gansey - type of aran in close knit. Semmit is what I know as a tank top or singlet.

Ahhhh, but I learned to knit before Google existed. Come to think of it, whilst the Internet was a mere twinkle in ARPANET's eye. ;)
