That sounds like the spate of dead gullimots that we had at the end of last year.:~( There is a thread on the org about them somewhere.

Less puffins at Dunnet Head this year than in the 14 years I have lived here.

It's probably just a coincidence. If you see dozens of dead birds then start worrying.
