Holiday lets in Caithness & Sutherland

Do you know... when I search for 1 bed holiday lets in Caithness and Sutherland Scotland seems to end at Inverness. Also, I get websites offering 'sleeps 6', 'close to Fort William'.

I want to rent a place for a week or two near to Thurso but also allowing me to travel west to Betty Hill and beyond. Can some one point me at a few web sites that don't try to palm me off with a 'pretty log cabin set amongst the Cairngorms' or a lakeside view of Loch Lomond?

Any help will be greatly appreaciated. :confused

Both would be on the cards. My intention would be to stop in Edinburgh for a couple of days, before travelling on to Thurso. I would love to meet up with orgers in the area - indeed, we may have gone to school together.

I also want to go fishing in the areas I used to as a kid... now that I have more experience. I won't miss that big coalie at Forss this time!

Thanks, Dog-eared. I looked at their site but they do not seem to have anything below a 4-person let. I am after a 1-2 person type. I have found several other tips have put me in the right area, though.

If you want a place off season the places in Mackays often give reduced rates. I used to use their catalogue for winter lets when contracting away from home. A 4 person house might not be dearer than a 2 person let.;)

The wifie put the scuppers on the trip. She didn't fancy a holiday with her sister and started getting all argumentative about how expensive it would be - I thought it would be quite cheap. Any orgers in Devon? Thank you to all who replied.
