Tracing people who knew my mother

My mother was Ann Phimister Waters and she was born 24 July 1943 but was known as Nancy. She died in 1981 of breast cancer and is buried in Watten cemetry. SHe was in the WRI and was a great baker and flower arranger.
I was born 15 February 1963 in Inverness and put up for adoption and only recently traced my roots.
Does anyone have any recollection of my mother growing up?
