With news that Vince Cable supports the increase in tuition fees for students (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-11525031), one begins to wonder what else of their "family silver" are they going to offer
the Tories, bearing in mind that tuition in Scotland is free.

Anyone who voted Lib Dem in the last election should be heavily critical about the way that the present crop of Lib Dems politicians are morphing into Tories.

Oh I think this sucking up and siding with the Tories will be the nail in the coffin for the Lib Dems....They are having their 5 minutes in power and I reckon that this will be the only time they are in power. How can you have a party that came third in the election more or less running the country?
Any promises they made before the election will fly out of the window as they look after themselves with handsome pay rises for being in the Cabinet.
Sorry, but I would sooner vote BNP than vote for the Lib Dems in the future.

Well, I think certain compromises are inevitable. Personally, I'm in favour of students paying; after all, the object of the exercise is to aspire to a better career and standard of living. And repaying these larger loans will only affect the higher earners. People who attain degrees to help with vocational careers will be protected.

A well thought out plan with the added benefit of causing howls of anguish from the Socialists in the Student Unions.

Just think of it this way, you will no longer be subsidising the education of Bankers and Stock Brokers

Scotland will be next http://www.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/int/news/-/news/uk-scotland-11521624

Nothing like a good denial to convince me it will happen

Should we retain University only for the professions- and should the professions not sponsor people who will then join their organisation?

The banks do things this way- don't they?

Do people actually need degrees to work in tesco management? Shouldn't everyone start on shelf stcking and work their way up?
