Did anyone else see the Orca Whales last night?

We were out for our walk round the North Head in Wick about 8.30pm last night. We were lucky enough to see about 11 Orca Whales swimming North to South across Wick Bay. They were really close at one point, and jumping out of the water - it was an amazing sight!

You are being awwfie posh, aren't Orcas better known as Killer Whales. When I was a rufty tufty hairy armed sailor we used to see them all the time. Such elegant, sleek, graceful beasties. The big white under belly and the massive dorsal fin are the big giveaway. They certainly love to jump out of the water; I am pretty sure they are having competitions to see which one make the biggest splash. I wonder if they had a little feast of some of the seals near John O' Groats. Although I live near the coast we never seem to get exciting sights around this way.

Sorry - didn't mean to sound posh!

We didn't have a camera with us - just out for our usual walk, so didn't expect to see them.

:o)
