Would some kind soul please tell me where in Wick (i do know that it's in the downtown area) Oag Street (it might be Oag Lane) is located? If you could point me to a map, i'd be forever greatful.

Link here (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=europe&X=336000&Y=950500&scale=10000&width=700&height=400&gride=&gridn=&coordsys=gb&db=hcgaz&overviewmap=ap&scale=10000&up.x=15&up.y=12)
It's Oag Lane and it's off Louisburgh Street. The above web site should give you a map.

Thanks so very much, especially to Jaws and Bill (nice pics!) for the info. My maternal grannie's maiden name was Oag and we (in Canada) have wondered for ages about the location of the lane. We asked a few rellies but "near Woolworth's" was about the closest answer we could get.

Why not try Genealogy. Who knows, you might even find some relatives. There are still quite a few Oags in Caithness and you were more than welcome to the help.

Yes, i will. i already belong to RootsWeb's Caithness list and am list-mum to its OAG surname list as well. Rellies have been back to Wick; we just couldn't suss out exactly where Oag Lane was.
