Erm...think it might be more likely due to the weather!:confused

have had several over the past few weeks..all during the day when the weather was not bad.. often when im on the phone. and i know that dounreay has had them the same time as wick.. as have been on the phone to dounreay when it happened, and both parties thought it was the dip on their end that cut the other off"

Just had another one!
They are quite frequent these dips at the moment.
Is there work on the exchanges or is the weather getting the blame?

My Sky lost its recording early hours last night... Said powercut and however not had one since...

Think ours was down to the Thunder and Lightning though..

Everything is fine here in Thurso, I think that the power starts south, comes through Thurso, gets near to wick, then simply dies of despair.

More likely there is hardly any left after going through the gadgets in your place. :)

Just spoke to the supplier and they say they believe the problems are being caused by bird hits, just an unusually large number compared to normal. They have patrols out checking the lines and are installing bird scarers in affected areas. I mentioned the posts here in the forum to emphasise it's not an isolated case.

I beg to differ, I do my bit to produce energy and let this earth live on a little longer.

Did we have another Power Cut this morning at approx 07.00? Just wondering as everytime we have a flash in Power it sets of my Carbon Monoxide alarm:confused

Was a little worried but the alarm seems to be going off everytime the flashes happen and also we have no gas on at the time so i think it must be a coincidence.

Think so..it resets my alarm clock to 1200...and that was about 2 hrs ago....

Happened in Reiss as well. Thought it might be weather related tonight?

My sister works in Wick and said that there have been quite a lot of dips in the electricty supply in her shop lately.

Think it justifys a trip to the kiln store to buy nice candles:lol:
Love the smell of the yankee candles but dont have many in the house or burn them as I forget about them when the kids are in bed.....
But powercuts = candles...torches...cheating at snakes n ladders...and tomato soup!

couldnt help but lol
i always say that if i had a power cut we'd die of the fumes as every candle i own is a scented one!! my eyes would be stinging and the house stinking!! lol
