hello guys,
i had a wee accident with a bottle of lemonade and it ended up going into the car cd player, the radio still works but now it eats cds (it sometimes spits them out) and it wont switch off, does anybody know if the cd head cleaner disc would fix the problem or is it a garage job??? never take lemonade into your car its EVIL !!!!!!!!!! lol

Go to Halfords and buy a new one. It will be cheaper in the long run.

he he he im loving the song, im thinking that it may well be a garage job cause the cd player is built in, wish it had been malt i had spilt it might not have been so sticky and might have sung the famous drinking song shannymo. lol

Leave the car in the street in some unsavoury area and hope some ned nicks the CD player. Of course you might lose the wheels, battery etc as well. Or the whole car.

try: Isopropyl Alcohol (http://forum.caithness.org/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=28994)

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=isopropyl+alcohol&source=15&SD=Y

or goto your chemist and get then to make up a bottle of it 1:1 with distilled water

if i was up that end of the world i'd do it for you

if you are ok with basic work
you should be able to remove it from the dash with the coreect split slider tool and take its top case off. [see the internet for info]

use this stuff with a semi stiff brush [toothbrush should be ok]

and use lots of it to flush the sugar away.

there will be gears or sponge rollers on the in/out that are prob gfiving you the troubles.

as for the lense, that can be cleaned with this too and a cotton bug.

it will not hurt any of the internals however much you use
just give it 20 mins before you try it though.
