I was very saddened to hear on the radio this morning that, Mike Edwards, the former cellist of E.L.O, met with an untimely and unlikely death on Friday of last week.
A large bale of hay rolled out of a field and crashed into the front of the van he was driving.
I am sure Mike Edwards (or E.L.O) will not mean very much to many younger orgers, but I did my bit of head banging to them in my younger days.

It sort of makes me grateful for the day ahead.

ELO founding member Mike Edwards killed in freak runaway hay bale ... (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1309256/ELO-founding-member-Mike-Edwards-killed-freak-runaway-hay-bale-accident.html?ito=feeds-newsxml)

ELO's record 'Hold on tight to your dreams' was the first record I ever bought (showing my age now!)

A very sad an unfortunate accident :-(

really gets you thinking about fate eh!!

whats the chances of a hay bale rolling down a hill by itself........
(we live on a farm and we've never seen it!)
hitting a hedge that instead of slowing,or stopping it, flips it up in the air,
then lands directly on top of the cab, not hitting the side of the van to knock it over, or the back of the van where no one is! [para]

you couldnt make it up!!

poor man, what a horrible twist of fate, for a man of such talent to leave this world :(
