I have decided to move the desktop to a different room and have bought a wireless usb adapter and have followed the instructions ( well to the best of my ability). It is trying to connect but says that it is acquiring network address - it has been doing this for at least 45 mins. Signal strength is good.
Has anyone got any ideas or will I just have to get someone that knows what they are doing to have a look

For help from our vastly knowledgable folk on the forum you'll need to provide some more information:
1. The operating system on your PC, i.e. Windows XP, Vista or 7
2. the make and model of your USB wireless adapter
3. the make and model of your Router
what wireless router signal are you selecting...the right one for your home router?
have you selected the correct security encryption method [wep.wpa,wpa-2] it uses?
have you entered the correct password?
it your home router set to dhcp?
