What would we do without the RNLI? As an ex seaman I am thankful we have an institution like that

It was their 3rd shout this week. A yaucht on Tuesday night, a yaucht last night (Wed) and the trawler tonight. There was also a shout last week.

I believe the trawler was the Sparkling Star. I was gutted as I missed all the action, never dreaming they would be out for a third night in a row.

A good week for all the guys. They went 6 months between Nov and June without a shout.

I think it was just once last week. The shout before the Karen shout was the warrior, which you got photos of.

Their shouts appear on their website, although this weeks ones arent up on it yet as they have been so busy out on the boat.

......A BIG thank you to the Lifeboat crew of Scrabster who indeed DID have to tow in The Karen last Thursday evening.
My husband, father, cousin, brother-in-law and his two sons were on board on a fishing trip when the call went out.
All that we know is that due to a cracked seal when fitting a new prop, the boat started taking on far more water than the pumps could handle.
About 2 hours earlier than scheduled, the trip came to an abrupt ending when life-jackets were handed out and the call went out to the Aberdeen Coastguard to alert the local Lifeboat crew.
Once ashore, my husband led the way to the local pub, and then joined the others who were aboard in dropping several pounds into the RNLI charity box while enjoying a nice calming pint.
While there was no real danger, it was a brutal reminder just what an outstanding and selfless job these people do, and how many people owe them so very much.
Thank you again to all the Lifeboat crews.

I could n't agree more Moonshadow the selfless people who volunteer to man the lifeboats around our treacherous shores are to be respected and admired.
Long may there be folk that will continue to do so and may their dedication be well recognised.

Finally, some of the pics taken by my nephew who was aboard The Karen a couple of weeks ago (along with most of the male side of my family) when the Scrabster lifeboat crew responded to the skipper's SOS.
Again, deepest respect and thanks.

Well done boys!
What a great sight and a tremendous relief it must be to see the lifeboat coming straight for you when you're in trouble at sea. Can't praise the crews enough. (Don't forget the people in the background who raise the money to keep the lifeboat there, I know they don't risk their lives to rescue people but without them there just wouldn't be this service).
