The maternity debate - a humorous view

That is not to trivialiise the important issue of the maternity unit fiasco. Sitting here half a world away I sometimes find my blood pressure rsing as I read about the arrogance of the bureaucrats involved.

Whenever I watch Sky News and see politicians talking about health and education, all I hear is then TELLING me that what people,want is choice, or that it is not economic to provide a service......who do they speak to to come to these conclusions??
Surely what everyone wants is the provision of good health and education services. The fact that they have got their sums wrong or apportioned insufficient funds to incorrect budgets which were derived from inadequate plans fails to recognise that the provision of the service is the basic right - whether it be heath or education.
