I can hardly believe I am saying this but my wonderful boy Charly has just been put to sleep due to heart failure.
He went peacefully which is a blessing but I cannot imagine life without him.:~(

Liz, my heart goes out to you......Your Charly was such a light in your life and a joy. Take comfort that you gave him your all and he loved and adored you and you gave each other such happiness. Trust that someday you you will smile again and the pain of parting from your lovely boy will ease.

Yes I truly believe I will meet him again Unicorn which is a great comfort.
Just hard not having him here to cuddle and kiss.:( I couldn't have wished for a better companion.

Charly was more than a cat he was your own very special wee angel that will carry on looking after you now that he's gone.

So, so sorry Liz......
Some people think it's "just losing a pet", but to those of us who know how precious our pets are, it's definetley like "losing a part of your family" :~(
My sincere good wishes to you and your sister, Liz, and always remember that Charly was a very lucky cat the day he came to your door!
You gave him a happy life, full of fun, good food, freedom, and a lap to cuddle into with so much love; what more could any cat wish for? Take comfort from the fact you gave him that and more, Liz.

I cannot thank you all enough for the wonderful, loving messages.
I am so very grateful as they have been a great comfort to me.
We buried Charly under a tree in his favourite spot in the garden. Someone was playing the bagpipes in the hall next door so my darling boy had a lament to send him on his way! xxx
The lovely Miss Molly has been such a comfort today and I am sure Charly brought her here as he knew he was going to leave us. She stayed with me this morning which is unusual as she usually stays in my bedroom and also sat beside the sofa where I had placed Charly's body.
I am so proud of Suzy as she is being so brave. Benjy has gone a bit hyper but I know this is because he is upset.
I'm taking the homepathic remedy Ignatia and giving it to my pets as well and it really helps.
Charly has actually performed a wee miracle before he left I think as, before now, I had to keep shutting Molly in the bedroom as she was frightened of Benjy but today I didn't and, although she hisses at him now and again, she is being very good and Benjy is able to give her kisses bless him.
Sorry if I am rambling (well more than usual!:lol:) but I am sooo tired.

I am missing him even more today. Missing him coming to meet me in the morning for his cuddle and following me around like a wee dog.Missing his beautiful cuddles where he would put his head under my chin. Missing him walking around the garden with me singing as he went.
He really was the most special wee cat and has left his beautiful pawprints on my heart.
I am so grateful that he chose to come and live with me.

I am so very sorry, Liz. You know that the rawness of your loss will ease with time and if there were words to speed the process up, I would type them but there are none. Take comfort from knowing that you gave Charly the best life possible. Hugs to you and your furbabies, Liz. RIP, sweet Charly. xx

Having lost more pets than I would like I know from experience that the horrible raw pain will ease and be replaced with wonderful memories of a truly beautiful cat.
Each loss is like it is the first.
I feel that it is worth it though for the many years of unconditional love and companionship they give us.
