Right, rant time!

Sent some documents off to DVLA Inverness (after ringing the helpline to make sure I had everything correct) and it all came back to me today. They want the tax disc that is on the car. Had been advised just to send the serial number of it and expiry date and keep the disc on the car.

Now surely you can't drive about without a valid tax disc showing?

The telephone number on their letter no longer exists, so is the 0300 number to ring again, press 1, press 2 etc! Five flamin' options to go through.

They didn't have a clue why Inverness wouldn't process my request and it is impossible to actually speak to anyone in Inverness local office.

Drives you round the bend.....as long as you've got a valid tax disc showing that is!!!!!

it probably got processed by a dinosaur who was throwing it back at you because nobody told her/him that the rules changed years ago.

Your sig has the right of it 'As one door shuts, another one slams in your face.' (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250672073373&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT) :)

Maybe try a new sig and see if it changes your luck!

It would never have happened if you sent it to DVLA, Swansea.;)

Right, part two.

Went in person down to DVLA Inverness, and the nice chap behind the counter said he didn't have a clue why it had come back to me as it was all in order!!!!!! Tax disc wasn't required.Grrrrrrr.

They also have to ring the blasted 0300 number which he berated and can understand customers annoyance with it.

Anyway, all sorted now.
