Wow!!

A sparrowhawk just flew into my kitchen window !!

I was sitting here on the computer, when the almighty bang almost gave me a heart attack !! :eek:

It left wing marks and a trace of blood on the window.

It sat for a second on the garden wall - obviously dazed and flew off. When I checked outside below the window, there was a wee dead bird lying there below it. I tried to gauge what kinda birdie it was, but it looked extremely bedraggled, I thought maybe a late chick ?

You gotten over that fright by now but it must have been a memorable experience seengnt such a beautiful bird close up?
Although the poor bird wouldnt agree since the colision with the window left its impact!
Glad that the hawk recovered and I suspet the wee bedraggled bird below the window was going to be the hawks dinner as they feed on small birds that are already dead.
You are probaly right about that the poor wee birdie being a late chick tso many dont make it!
Sparrow hawks ar e extremeily eficient hunters.

One of my bros used to have a sparrowhawk and I remember being fasinated at the hawks spectacular flying abilities. :)
