took a wee tour around and ended up at Loch Watten just as the sun was setting, don't know if the fisherman caught anything but glad I did

Am lovin the first one, really like the light and natural framing with the grass.
Was a lovely evening, tremendous light. Best evenings photography i've had for a while,so nice to see blue sky for a change.

thanks MPH, it was good to be out taking landscapes again, think I had tired of it so the break did me good and as the nights are getting shorter its easier to get sunset photos, esp when working early morns!

here's another!

well I am fair chuffed!! entered the photo below into a contest in the SWPP forums and it won 1st place :Razz my prize is a 24-75mm F/2.8 Tamron Lens CANON FIT!!! no use for my Sony unfortunately but suppose I can keep hold of it in case I ever change to Canon ;)

The Judges Comment "A beautiful sunset shot. Technically it's a very good shot (the composition is strong and the exposure of the sky is very well balanced against that of the boat) but it also has a lovely, peaceful feeling to it that makes me want to go out in that boat!"

So well deserved !!! It's such a natural looking photo, with nothing done to alter the colours or atmosphere (or if you have, then it's certainly not obvious as in so many other photos!) ....... I think it's beautiful !!!!:D

Huge well done Julie !!!

thanks all :D

I only joined last week and that was my 1st post in their forum section! When I read the post last night I nearly choked on my coffee when I read my name as the winner lol

I have entered photos into their main monthly competition and am hoping that some of them get an award but won't find out until September

FANTASTIC DRAGONFLY
Why not enter it for the Country File photo comp? It would be great if someone from Scotland won it.

Brilliant photo!!

Do you use photoshop to touch it up at all or are these the originals?

thanks all

yes the photos have been photoshopped, they're not "out of the can" - a few tweaks of colour, brightness, contrast etc make a big difference to an image, maybe not everyone's cup of tea but certainly I like the effects PS can give to a photo
