Hi folks,
Over the five days covering the August Bank Holiday, a group of motorcyclists will be riding from Lands End to John O'Groats in aid of the Help for Heroes charity. One of the riders will be on a Boom Trike as he is an ex-soldier who was injured whilst serving in Afghanistan. He stepped on a hidden land mine and lost both legs and his right arm. All bikers have been invited to ride some or all of the way with them. They will be coming up from Inverness on Tuesday 31st August stopping at Brora Shell Station at 10.25 until 10.55, then the next stop is Tesco at 11.55 where they will stop for an hour for lunch and so will leave at 12.55. They will arrive in JOG at 13.15 where there will be a photo shoot and official end of the ride. If anybody is interested in joining in the ride for any of the sections more details can be found at www.numbumrun.co.uk (http://www.numbumrun.co.uk). My other half is planning to go to Brora to meet them and ride back up with them so if anyone is interested in joining him please give him a ring on 01955 603095.
Cheers
Singysmum

So far there are 4 bikes that we know of who will be doing the run. They are meeting at Thrumster at 9am on Tuesday to ride to Brora together. There may be others who would lilke to join the group to do the section from Tescos to John O'Groats. If you, or anybody you know, would like to come along please ring us on 01955 603095 so we would know who to look out for. Cheers.

Well folks, it's over now and what an emotional ride it turned out to be. Thanks to all local bikers who turned up to join in and support it - the sight of 50 or so motorbikes riding in a group together with the trike toward the front was worth turning out to see. At JOG a large crowd gathered as one of the ride organisers announced that so far the ride had raised in excess of £25,000 for the Help the Heroes charity, with more to come. This amount included a collection held by one of the local motorbike clubs that was presented at the signpost. Thankfully the weather stayed fine although it seemed to be a bit chilly for some of Andy Reids family, who had followed his progress in four wheeled vehicles!

Thanks again for all support :D
