The BBC have reported how two policemen have been "taken off operational duty" after they filmed themselves smashing the windscreen of a car belonging to a 70 year old man, who they stopped for not wearing a seatbelt. Watch video (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-10879719)

I wonder if they would have shown the same aggression if the driver had been younger.

There was a thread going this morning on the same topic but it disappeard in a flash for some reason...This Guy should not have been on the road at all, dicky heart, just recovering from a stroke, fearing he would have another stroke, didnt stop when police were chasing him, ran over a copper when his tank "rolled forward"...no seat belt, illegal blacked out windows and a dodgy personalised number plate.....If I had been there I would have smashed his window also...we dont see stuff like this up here but it goes on every minute down South.
If he had had a stroke while driving that tank he could have collided head on and wiped out an entire family....get him off the road now!!!!!!

???? He was not driving a tank, it was a range rover. Maybe you should go hug a tree or two. Many car do less to the gallon than some range rovers. And as for your comments on the old man with a Dicky heart if he has a valid licence to drive that class of vehicle good on him. All you can say is what if.

Over worked, underpaid police force. Who are you trying to kid. They love the overtime they have to do because they spend most of there time parked up someware having a sleep. As for under paid they dont do that bad. You comment on giving crims a kicking is nothing short of disgusting. How would you like me to give a member of your family a kicking because I'm overworked and underpaid.
At the end of the day just like anyone else it is there career choice so why should i feel sorry for any of them. Just do your job or move on.

Illegal windows it is only illegal to have tinted front windows, I did not see any tinted front windows on video (I stand corrected if anyone else as).

The law enforcer who was trying to kick it in probably did.

Well it was enough to give this man a heart attack.

Was the front window tinted enough for one of the animals to jump on the bonnet and try to kick in the windscreen. Did he not have the intelligence to know the it is laminated and very tough. Of course not.

What a penis you are. "This old Geezer" have you no respect. Please explain playing the field if you can. Why the comment about the blue badge my wife has one so be very very care full (edited version). Illegal windows it is only illegal to have tinted front windows, I did not see any tinted front windows on video (I stand corrected if anyone else as). Tried to run over an officer, again when I so the news and the ATTACK the vehicle did not appear to be moving. How do you know he went to the press, it was a police video. Make the police look bad they can do that for themselves. Look at the man in London attacked from behind by a COWARD wearing a uniform and later died. Police dogs left in van to die by another so called OFFICER of the law Some of then are nothing more that a joke.

Another new orger in line for a short stay award? Aggressive, beligerent and rude. And thats before I point out the glaring errors in the facts of his post. The standard of debate on this site is going downhill at a remarkable rate,

I bid you all goodnight.

smashing in the windows of a car that hasn't stopped previously is a tactic used by the police, have seen it several times on Road Wars on Sky.

they call it 'shock and awe', basically the police will tan the car windows and roar and shout to make it difficult for the driver to leave the scene again with their pants full of porridge.

Yes I know ,but when these officers approached the vehicle and noticed the age of the driver surely commonsense should have kicked in. This in my opinion was too heavy handed. I know the police have a job to do and these day's that's not always easy. It's just that some of the comments by others left me feeling this man require some degree of defence.

the guy drove off after being stopped and lead the polce on a 17 minute chase through country roads before he stopped

that's why they used the tactic, heavy handed ? - yes successful ? damn right !

i'm all for the police towing the line, but i think this incident is being blown out of proportion because the guys old...ish

being 70 doesn't make you above the law, how were the police to know he wasn't going to take off again for another 20 minute jolly through the countryside ?

Well I did say earlier if I am proven wrong I will old my hand up and admit it. Hands up you have got me.
I totally agree with you the age of the driver does not come into it.
Thank you for bringing to my attention events that I was unaware of.

Are you sure it was "The Scum" that you got facts from and not another newspaper with a "Scum" front page?
I would not believe anything that is printed in that rag, I would even check the date to make sure it is not another lie

I do not believe that anyone should be given a good kicking
Just because someone categorises them.

Oh I do. With the courts letting everyone go these days, at least the crims should have some kind of reminder that they don't want to be arrested in future.

Well thank goodness not everyone thinks the same. If we are to go down your route will will be no better than the crims just guilty of a different crime.
