Did you contact Scottish Water?

I did when our water was all brown and yucky and they supplied me with bottled water until the problem was fixed.

Having said that I am fed up with the awful smell and taste of chlorine (even though it is chloramine which isn't supposed to smell?) we get, strangely enough, when the weather is really cold.
Even the really good water filter I have doesn't get rid of it!

It's really lovely now though but only using the filter.

Im assuming your cold water is cloudy?this is air in the water, unless there is some other reason for water going cloudy...that im not aware of?

let the water settle after a few mins,it should disappear,if so its air,if not....no idea!

Have you tried letting the water run for a while?
It usually settles down, back to clear after a bit, when it does that!

I poured a glass of water this evening and after a while it went cloudy brown,:confused perhaps I contaminated it with a drop too much Old Pulteney Whisky.;)
