My cat (16 y.o.) has just got a very slightly runny eye o're the last two/three days. It's not very obvious and doesn't bother her at all, but I'm a little bit concerned.

I wiped away, a very tiny bit of "stuff", from her eye this morning, but I can see that it might possibly be returning......

Can anyone give me some advice, please ?

It could be something like a simple irritation...a seed or small bit of plant material.....if the discharge is coloured or cloudy there might be the start of an infection ......I think terramycin cream is usually the answer but you need to get it from the vet.:)

make up some black tea, when it goes cold use cotton wool dip and wipe eye from the inside (beside nose) outwards then bin and repeat with new piece of cotton wool.
has worked for me with guinea pigs, rabbits and dogs.
hope that helps! x

Thank you both for your kind replies.
She seems OK today, been checking her eye, but no sign of anything.

I wouldn't worry about if Iffy unless, as Teenybash said, it looked infected.

My 19 year old cat Charly often has a runny eye with wee bits of 'gunk' in the corner but I just clean it with Colloidal Silver.
I swear by the stuff!:D
I use it to clean out his ears as well to avoid infection.
