One of my mates just got scammed for T-in the park tickets on EuTicketshop.com, they are scamming for a lot of concerts so dont get duped into there scummy life.

If you have purchased from there get onto your credit card ASAP.

Before you buy anything online or via telephone from somewhere you have never heard of, a wee pointer.

As an example on the above just do a quick google or whatever your browser is and type in "EuTicketshop.com review" and it will throw up blogs, forums etc where people have discussed these places/sites. That way you can get a feel on whether its reliable/trustworthy or to avoid like the plague.

Do this for any other sites that look dodgy, if something aint right...walk away and go somewhere else.

Ok for the not so pc illiterate.....even if you have anti-virus etc this doesnt mean you are protected from these dodgy sites as they are setup all nicely and legit and they scam you once you have fell for the too good to be true deals before giving them your details.

Do your research before diving in with an open wallet and stay alert.

Good advice, unfortunately many people can't see beyond a cheap deal or too-good-to-be-true offer, merrily give their details, and then complain when they realise it actually WAS too good an offer after all!

Same with those who click links in phishing e-mails, or believe popups which say their PC is infected and wonder why they end up with a fake anti-virus package taking over their system.

This needs highlighted more as an awareness. People whom have never been around a pc in there life are now buying them and have no knowledge about good browsing practice. Its a shame as some people take things so inncocently and believe all they see before them.

As you said...a simple "you have a virus.....pay us £20 and we will fix it"....very effective con artist scam and easy money for them.

At the same time, a lot of people try to shave that extra quid off there purchase then bang.....they have been duped and it ends up costing them more or less double when they end up having to buy from a reputable dealer.

Safe and tactile browsing all!!

And always use a credit card online, never a debit card.

That way you can claim money back if you've been conned.
