There was an item on the radio this morning about SS Great Britain and it seems you could travel from, I think, Paddington to New York by train and ship on one ticket.
Now it seems ELEVEN tickets are needed to get from Scotland to London, at least by Traveline :eek: .
One with name and address Not Valid For Travel (don't need that, I know my name and address)
Four credit card receipts (one for ticket, one for card charge, two for booking charges - can't they add up?)
One ticket Inverness to London with
Two seat reservation tickets as 2 trains involved
One ticket London to Inverness with
Two seat reservation tickets as above.
I'd be quite happy with three. One credit card receipt, and one ticket each way including seats. In fact I'd be happy with an e-ticket and save post as well.
It's no wonder the trains are so antique. All the money goes on tickets. [disgust]
