Catapillars attacking me cabages

Any one got any proctical non chemical way of removing/discurraging these littlee beggars from demolishing me cabages ?

soak some rhubarb leaves in water for a week,or less if you chop up the leaves and use to water the cabbages.u need to take any leaves with the bugs on off and burn or feed to chickens!

Get the kids to catch and squish them?...used to get 10p per 100 caterpillars:lol:
Douse the plants in soapy water to wash them off?
