Fortuitously, my two SpLD pupils today were both of mixed Canadian origin and their parents were happily surprised when I greeted them with "Happy Canada Day" - though I know nothing of its origin :confused. (Actually, one Canadian parent hadn't remembered. ;))

Thanks LIZZ. I'm just home from a Canadian gathering. It was fun, but didn't hold a candle to the Edi orgers gatherings we sometimes have here in Auld Reekie.

Looks like they had a good long party in Ottawa, Stephen Harper, rra Queen hersel, lotsa bands wi bagpipes, the Snow Birds, an' aw paid fur by us - must have been the place to be.
All a pale immitation of the hooplah we'll see in a couple o' days doon south.
