ok so the world has officially gone mad, this 7 stone bride got married in a dress made with 1600ft of net, 400ft of pure silk and 5250 fto of tulle, dozens of steel hoops to give its 30 layers structure, 30,000 crystals and as if thats not enough the matching white gold tiara, earings along with the basque. The dress also had a 60ft chiffon train making a total of 25 stone in weight - at a cost of £15000. six smaller versions were made for the bridesmaids at a cost of £10,000 each. It took family and friends nine hours to dress the bride and 10 people had to help her up the aisle.

Ok so if that is not just pure madness in itself - the bride is 16 and the groom 17!

The marriage will probably only last about a couple of years, how will she top that in her next trip down the aisle....so young and yet so cynical. ;)

saw it in the news she wanted a wedding like jordans. for a 16 year old she looked well in her 20s. wouldnt have been happy if a kid of mine wanted to get wed that young.

I cannot believe that £25,000 for wedding dresses is money well spent. What of the cost for the reception? Is that not a huge debt for a 16year old newly married person to start of with? Or perhaps she is wealthy??

isn't it usually the bride's parents who pay???

It would surely Have to be the parents paying...the girl is only 16. Not many 16-year-olds have the cash or credit facilities to shell out for £25,000 wedding dresses (I realise there may be a few exceptions to that. She could be an heiress, I suppose ), not to mention the bridesmaids dresses, the reception, flowers, that coach thingie she is shown riding in, and all the other expenses that go with a fancy wedding.

And since she is under 18, parents or legal guardians would have had to give permission for her to marry (the groom, too, as he is only 17). She certainly doesn't even sound very mature...the dress and palaver were simply because she wanted a wedding bigger than Jordans!

It sounds like a case of a very spoiled little girl....

It was America? Please, tell me it was in America. Don't tell me that some other country has now slipped into the same sort of depraved insanity. What a gross example of total shortage of stuff in the skull. I am all for a good wedding but this is capitalism and one-up-man-ship gone orbital!

Incredible! I wonder why she didn't have a trolley built underneath the flounce. Then she could have been wheeled down the aisle and not been exhausted when she got there.

Seriously, some folks have more money than brains.
