Yes Trinkie there and several others places never realised that it grew in the wild as had only seen the garden varieties before, Caithness keeps surprising me!

It is plantain. You're right.

It's Ribwort Plantain (Plantago Lanceolata). But it's also known as English Plantain and Narrowleaf Plantain.
