According to reports Israel has asked the UN to suspend its attempts to organise an international inquiry into the Israeli attack on a ship trying to break the blockade of Gaza, which resulted in nine peace protesters being murdered.

The UN has called for an independent inquiry into the attack (but has so far proposed no punitive resolutions against Israel)

Israel on the other hand, has announced its own inquiry but some governments are, quite rightly, a bit cynical about its independence

A new bid to deliver aid by sea is on its way but the Israelis state:

"that some organisation, probably backed by a terror organisation, (is) once again trying to send a vessel into Gaza," he said.

So before the they even know what is on the ship, and who it is from, they are presuming that it is being backed by a "terror" organisation.
With such an aggressive stance can we expect another massacre on the high seas?

why do they presume that any aid would be backed by terror ?!!

this is despicable.

why is the west still unwilling to challenge Israel on this ?

the BBC article uses the word 'runs' instead of 'governs' creating an image of instability and uncertainty which will back up certain views of a terrorist power playing at running a country.

Hamas have been elected and need the support of the West to help the people in Gaza.

is there oil in Israel we haven't heard about ?

According to the AP Iran is sending a "Blockade Busting" ship to Gaza. Maybe that's what Israel are worried about?

Hmm, I expect you're right.. bit of a stupid move by Iran, but hey, what's new?

JERUSALEM – Iran said Tuesday it would send a blockade-busting ship carrying aid and pro-Palestinian activists to Gaza, fuelling concern in Israel, where commandos were training for another possible confrontation at sea.
Israel warned archenemy Iran to drop the plan. The Iranian announcement came days after Israel eased its three-year-old blockade of Gaza under international pressure following its deadly raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla last month.
"No one in their right mind can believe that a ship sent by the ayatollahs and their Revolutionary Guard has anything to do with humanitarian aid," said Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor. "I don't think there is one single country in this region and beyond that would let such an ayatollah ship come near its coasts."
Security officials said the prospect of an Iranian boat headed for Gaza had Israel deeply worried, and that naval commandos were training for the possibility of taking on a vessel with a suicide bomber on board. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to disclose operational details
Iran's state television reported that an Iranian ship called "Infants of Gaza" would sail Sunday for Gaza carrying 1,100 tons of relief supplies and 10 pro-Palestinian activists.
Israel considers Iran the most serious threat because of its suspect nuclear programme its long-range missiles and its support for Lebanese and Gaza militants.
