Stuff the .org, I'm off to run my own group!

Well, not exactly. I have been mucking around with www.lybster.org.uk (http://www.lybster.org.uk) off and on for a while now.
It is very much a work in progress and currently has the weather station uploading there and a couple of other bits.

It will be added to it slowly but open to any suggestions or suitable content etc. etc.

This look's really cool Phill and useful info to boot. Currently all the planes are heading south, it looks like a migration! Maybe they know something we don't

Personally I think this kind of website could serve the local community by trying to attract attention to the area from specialist tourist groups, not already targeted by the likes of Visit Scotland.

Maybe somethings like recent archeology (aircraft crash sites and the like) Lots of wreck hunters for the sea too. Possibly mapping WW2 and cold war relics that are dotted around the area.

All the best with it.

Oh, and a forum of course to allow prospective visitors to experience what a sane, balanced, community we are.

Nice site, looking good, lots of potential.
Additional content? You might want to say something about wildlife. I know there are a lot of sightings of dolphins and whales off Lybster. You might be able to create a wee bit of interest to draw in visitors.
Talking of visitors is there any ’happenings’ in the centre down by the harbour?
IMHO a website should be 'live' with up-to-date information on anything and everything going on in the community.
I wish you well. :D

Nice site there Phill, like the ship and plane plotter. Well laid out, like the presentation.

Maybe a webcam would be a good idea ??, adds a bit of live action to the mix.

I'm a bit worried about flight UAL976 which has a height of 33,000ft and a speed of 0 knots . Nice site, and a great idea.

Thanks for all the feedback, all noted.
Webcam - I have been playing with a couple I have here but they are cheapy ones and don't handle the change in lighting conditions too well but I am working on it. (I'm also just outside of Lybster so the view won't be all that exciting)

Forum - Hmmm...there's a good idea [smirk]

No keen on splinters, they tend to be blinking sore.
So if you have an alternative ,bring it on!

There's no 'spoons but there's The Portland Arms that do food, not sure what the menu is these days though. The Bayview, I think they do food and there is always the Comm' bar !!

I can cobble together a fair curry mesel!
