PP needed?

Does nayone know if you need planning permission for a Polytunnel?
We're finally getting around to buying one but information on planning for it seems sketchy.

As far as I am aware you do. I remember someone saying to me that they were going to get a poly tunnel until they were told they wouldn't get planning permission for it.

really for a poly tunnel? its not even a perm. structure! do you need PP for everything now? so if i wanted to put up a green house would i need planning permission? what about a shed?

Darn it I was hoping it wouldn't be needed.
Poops guess I'll just have to go to the council and find out the whys and wherefores which I really didn't want to have to do.
