Can anyone tell me what they think I saw?

On my way to work this morning something ran in front of my car a few yards up the lane. It was black definately not a cat as it was to long in length with a bushy tail!!!

Possibly a stoat ? Depending on size....

Thanks for that, it was thin and long, if thats what it was it's the first time I have seen one, are they dangerous?? Do they have long bushey tails then?

Was it sort of cat size but a different shape? I was out walking at 7am a few weeks ago and saw what I thought was an odd looking cat streak across the road - it was dark coloured, fairly low to the ground, but had a big bushy tail. Anyhoo, it wandered down the hedge line towards me, and got to within about 6 feet - it was a pine marten!:cool:
