Before I'm shot down in flames - I guess this thread has been on here before at some point; so I apologise in advance if this is so !!

I was just chatting with my OH about who'd we'd choose to have to a dinner party (dead or alive) and why. If you choose to reply to this thread then you don't have to give reasons for your choices, OK? :D

My personal 5 choices of people for my dinner party would be : -

1. My Granny, who I never met, but I'm her namesake.

2. Winston Churchill, would love to hear about his "leadership" days (and probably the drunken ones too ) and he could chat with my Granny.

3. Princess Diana - Just thought she was a very interesting person and would've loved to have seen her lifestyle from her point of view rather than others !!

4. Felicity Kendall, just because she's one of my all time favourite actresses.

5. ??? - Mmmmmmm - still working on this one; any ideas ? ;)

I haven't picked five yet, but they will all be dead people. The food bill is so much cheaper that way!! ;)

So Anfield, I see you're sat next to me?

Well I'm sure that in a civilised setting with good food, good coffee ('fraid I'm tee-total) and a good atmosphere, we'd get along fine. Folk take this Org business far too seriously. I can understand fully your intense emotion on certain subject, these are things you hold dear to you. I, on the other hand do also.
We have very robust discussions with each other on this site, they get heated, You do not try to ram your points of view down my throat, I respect this.

Away from this arena of verbal battle I am absolutely sure you and I would enjoy each others company.. 'So, do you take sugar'?

Thank you, Cherokee, this is a great thread and no matter if it, or something similar, has been up before! You have already brought together some of the more vociferous (shall we say?) Orgers - so job well done!

@ Ducati - I am not sure whether to be sad or glad to be on the subs' bench!

I should like to dine with Stephen Fry, Kenny Dalglish, Neil M Gunn, Dorothy Parker and Wilfred Owen.

I note with interest Mr Stephen Fry turns up on a lot of dinner lists, I'm yet to really understand.

I have two 5's. If that is allowed? (several to be honest)

Stephen Fry
John Major
John Cleese
Les Dawson
the Dalai Lama

For the fun of it:

Kelvin MacKenzie
