Can anyone help me find out who William Bain & Margaret Bruce's parents were. I have them married on 01 March 1811 in Wick. Their children were
John Bain 24 mar 1813 Keiss
David Bain 18 oct 1814 Mireland
Catherine Bain 25 dec 1816
Margaret Bain 05 jul 1819
Janet Bain 30 jan 1822.

If there wasn't an earlier child who died, his father should be John and hers David. Also, her mother Catherine and his Margaret. Not an answer, but might give you some specifics to help in the hunt.

Thank you for your reply.
I have a David and Katherine Bruce as Margaret's parents at the moment, I was hoping to be able to find out for sure as it's just guess work that I have these parents. I found William's death certificate and it's got his parents as John Bain and Elizabeth McBeath he died in 1857 in Mireland, Wick. I have been unable to find out when Margaret died only that it was somewhere between 1841 and 1851.

Well, that's a bother, isn't it? As she died prior to civil registration, you can always hope to find a gravestone.

Thank you for the help , I've tried finding a gravestone for her and her husband but there doesn't seem to be on for either of them in the Wick area which is where I know that her husband died.
