well, I say this week, possibly a bit longer.

At the moment the Hmanavoe is in Germany for having its cracks fixed.

In its place is the Hascosay.
The hascosay has a limited passenger number of 12.
All other passengers for the 09.00, 12.00, 16.30 and 19.00 sailings are being transferred by coach from whichever terminal ( scrabster/stromness) to the John O'Groats ferry and on to the other terminal.
There is no John O'Groat ferry for the 03.45 or 06.00 sailing so 12 is the max amount of passengers that can travel on it.

Pain in the posterior i know, I can't say too much asw I may get into trouble, but not exactly satisfactory for a lifeline servicce and beginning the tourist season.
In fact I dare say it is damned unbelievable

All that and very reliable as well by all accounts.
And all without huge Government Handouts!!
Funny that, isn't it?

very true, and no money from CASE, which is probably just as well as he'd probably have failed by now if he had!!!

I can recomend the gills ferry, much cheaper and a lot faster, and the bacon butties are good as metioned above :D
