Ahh, the "Bands from down south are automatically better" debate!!

I seem to remember this one before!

I recommend an internet search and a doubling of your proposed budget. O yes don't forget about the accommodation/travel costs on top.

I assume you're fairly intimate with ALL of the local wedding bands efforts to make such a sweeping statement?

Right on the defensive there Deemac?

Tut tut ;)

I think all local bands deserve some element of defence.

Do you not agree?

To an extent yes, in this case, I just find it slightly amusing that you are in a band that plays wedding dances and you're the first person to go on defence. Shouldn't you let other people do that for you?

Remix are excellent and very popular in wick. They do a variety of music and songs. They were the band at my daughters wedding last year and they were really good. I highly recommend them. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7_1_52.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNfox000)

I had Manson Grant and the Dynamos playing at my wedding 2 years ago and they were ace. The dance floor was hardly empty all night.

Box'o' Bananas from Stirling are currently one of the top bands in the Country for weddings and specialist functions. They are fantastic entertainers as well as musicians covering a wide range of music styles, which will make it a night to remember. These guys are willing to travel up here for specialist events including weddings, and can be arranged through myself. Anybody interested private message me for further details.

Having seen Box 'o' Bananas just afew months ago in the Weigh Inn, I can confirm that they are a quality party/wedding band. They have everything you would want from a band to entertain a wide age group and kept everyone thouroughly entertained.

I do however agree with the "support the scene" comments but that wouldn't stop me from choosing entertainment elsewhere if I felt they fitted the occasion.

I have to agree with you there. These guys are at the top of their game, and perform all over the World.

doesn't it depend on what they want? some folk want an hour of ceilidh music or more of a traditional edge and some just a cover rock band and so on ... I know one or two or three or four... alll fae edinburgh tho.. but, one that plays regular functions up there every year and they also are willing to travel allover the place... and are a bit more traditional as far as instrumentation. the jimmy shandrix experience. but, surely there are some good function bands in caithness, rossshire, sutherland area? accom and travel expense would cost ya alot
