Am I the only one thinking "What are they meant to be ??" .. is this the best we can do for Olympic Mascots ??

http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/1114/mascotsanimated0.jpg

Apparently the back story is that they were formed from the last drop of steel from the main Olympic Stadium .. talk about lame. They look some kind of odd shaped, one eyed, race of crab people. If you bought a kid a large stuffed version of that it would give them nightmares.

Waste of cash. I could have drawn a better mascot after a night on the Beer, with my stomach contents.

Well that runner bloke from the olympic commitee was saying last night it was desinged with children in mind.
Adults are not as gullible to believe all the olympic hype as children...I think.

The yellow lights on their heads featuring their initials are said to have been inspired by "Londons iconic black cabs". Their single eye is a "camera which will capture the people they meet, the places they go and the sports thy try on their journey to 2012". Allegedly.

Well I think with those little legs and arms and having no depth perception, Dont think they will be getting many medals, just the ideal duo for the british teams [lol]

They got a right shoeing in the Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/olympics/london2012/7743176/London-2012-Olympic-mascots-computer-generated-Smurfs-for-the-iPhone-generation.html) today. Both correspondents seem to have it spot on.

"Why do we have to endure this sort of cretinous infantilism, and this awful lowbrow pandering to primitive ideas of fun?""cretinous infantilism" [lol]

Is the badge on the cap of the "thing" on the left, the same as Morrisons Supermarket logo

I do believe it is .. :D .. nice spot.

Also the one on the right looks like it needs to lose a few pounds compared to the one on the left.

Pregnant? How many can they give birth to?
Just think, we could be overrun with these things by the time the Olympics start.

Apparently one of them is the mascot for the Paralympics.

Beats me why they need to have two mascots.

Thats what I thought. Surely the Paralympics have their own mascot, unless of course its a coalition supposed to represent........., no, it cant be...can it?

I would like to see Mandeville in a wheelchair.

Not because I am stereotyping, but it would be darn cool to have a remote control one.

I'm going to steal that! There's a big fuss going over her in the colonies about Rand Paul, recently selected Republican candidate and loony Libertarian. Apparently he thinks it's a crime against a restaurant owner's property rights if he denies service to black people. Apparently property rights are more important than people rights. Cretinous infantilism!

They are truly awful, but on the other hand, who cares? Every Olympic Games I can remember has had a hopeless mascot that nobody bought. It's practically a tradition. Also see: FIFA World Cup
