caravan pump question

hi have a whale watermaster supersub 881 12v dc pump for caravan but it doesnt work does anyone know of a way of sorting the problem or at least finding out what the problem is? testing it? the battery system is working fine but no idea about this pump.... any advice greatfully recieved:D

Have you browsed ukcampsite.co.uk forums, there is a wealth of knowledge for caravanners and campers there :)

if the pump has been laid a while without water it will be beyond repair, you can try putting it in a bucket of water and turning it upside down but i think you would be as well buying a new one,

All you can do is put a 12 volt meter on the terminals that goes into the pump if there is 12 volts there and the earth wire is ok then it must be the pump?
I take it the pump doesnt need priming if its not been used in a while?
