Hi

George Gunn born in Thurso 26 November 1815 to parents William Gunn and Christian McLeod. I can't find any details on the parents in terms of marriage, census or birth and wondered if anyone could help.

Can't find any either. I also looked in Sutherland thinking they might have been from Reay/Durness/Farr.

Only clue is that William was a joiner when George was born and the witnesses to his birth were Corbetts.
There are no William's who are listed as joiners in the 1841 census.

I already had that - George was also a joiner who moved south and then ran his own construction company. I just don't understand why I can't find their marriage or any census data on George prior to 1881!
