You'll need the registration document.

If the number you 'found in a field' was on an agricultural vehicle it's unlikely that you'll be able to transfer it.

As above you need the relevant V5 documents and they need to be in your name :( cool plate though!

You need the vehicle (as the dvla can ask to inspect the donor and recipient vehicle) plus a valid mot and a current or at least recent tax disk

Since you were able to provide the details of the car then surely you should know it was rusted and in the scrapyard ten minutes after leaving the production line. :D

My future ex-wife and I were on our way to Inverness to buy wedding rings and she crashed and wrote off her mother's F-reg Metro, it folded up like paper . I refused to get in one of them ever again.

Maybe it was an omen of how the marriage would end up. [lol]

No personal number plate but I'd love SK7420 as it was my Dad's first car registration! A maroon Ford Anglia bought about 1960 which used to transport us from Wick to Edinburgh and back while we live up north. Oh happy days.

A good friend of mine down south bought a car many years ago with a private plate of LSK *** on it. He kept the plate and he and his brothers got into the habit of buying LSK plates for their business and familiy members.

It's quite comical when he comes up here in some seriously expensive machinery. You can see half the locals trying to suss out who's secretly won the lottery.:Razz
