Does anyone know the return fare Thurso to Inverness? I cannot find anywhere on the Stagecoach website where you can buy return tickets.

I know you asked about the bus, but I can't resist telling you that with a Highland Rail card the cost of a return to Inverness is £13.95

As the railcard costs £7.50 it would be cheaper to buy a railcard and a return ticket than it would be to buy a bus ticket.

Thank you for the replies. Better to go by train then!

the train does take over an hour longer than the bus and even longer than that if it is in its summer timetable......

so depends how quickly you need to go to inverness....

That offer is Scot rail

Journey time by train is 3hr 47min (if you really want to you can catch the train at Scotscalder and shave 18mins off that time)

Journey by coach is anything between 2hr 56min and 3hr 42min depending on which service you take.

Go by Train as you can get up and walk about and the train also have Toilets. Much more civilised. :)

The train trip is wonderful.............the scenery out west is superb. I used to love the early morning train south in the summer and the last one north on a summers evening is beyond beautiful.
